At Daily Drop, our mission is simple: to help you explore the world affordably and experience life-changing travel by maximizing miles and points. Our team of travel and credit card experts is here to help you make decisions about which cards belong in your wallet. Based on your travel goals, we offer unbiased advice to help you make the best choices. Keep in mind that our suggestions require responsible credit card use.
Here at Daily Drop, we score credit cards using a proprietary formula based on dozens of metrics across six key categories: annual fee, welcome offer, rewards rates, redemption value, benefits & perks, and travel protections. Higher scores indicate better overall value.
We net the annual fee against statement credits you'll likely use and focus on a welcome offerโs true return on spending (ROI) rather than just the headline number. We value rewards by their actual worth in cents per point, which is why flexible, transferable points typically score highest. APR is not a standalone scoring category because we recommend paying in full to maximize points and miles, but an intro 0% APR counts as a perk.
Our reviews are editorial and experience-driven. Our team has earned and redeemed millions of miles and points and tested these cards around the world. After all, we would not be Daily Drop if we were not practicing what we preach.

The New IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card (formerly the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card) is the strongest IHG card for business owners, and the relaunch made it even better. Right now there's a limited time launch offer of 190,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months, which is enough for multiple nights at IHG properties around the world. The annual fee went up to $200, but the card added real value to balance it out. You'll get up to $100 in Food & Beverage Rewards each year at IHG Hotels & Resorts, plus a $100 Airline Statement Credit each year when you spend at least $250 on flights purchased directly with the airline. You keep automatic Platinum Elite status, and now you'll also get 15 Elite Night Credits every year. Add in the Anniversary Free Night and the fourth night free on award stays, and Chase says this card offers over $750 in value your first year. If your business has you on the road and you lean toward IHG, this card is an easy keeper.

When it comes to IHG One Rewards points, the best way to maximize your points is to redeem them for travel.
We don't recommend: Redeeming for Cash Back
Using your points for cash back typically provides a lower value than redeeming for travel.
We sometimes recommend: Booking through the IHG Portal
You can redeem your points for hotel stays directly through the IHG portal, but this usually gives you a value of 0.5 cents per point or less. It's a decent option, but it's not the best.
We always recommend: Using Points for Free Nights
Redeeming points for free nights at IHG hotels provides the best value. This can give you more than 0.7 cents per point, especially if you take advantage of promotions and the fourth-night free benefit.
To get the most out of the annual fee, book your business flights directly with the airline on this card. Once you spend $250, you'll unlock the $100 Airline Statement Credit for the year, and those flights earn 5X points too. Putting your ad spend on the card is another easy win, since select advertising also earns 5X.

The IHG-Loyal Business Owner
If your business travel regularly lands you at IHG properties like InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, or Holiday Inn, this card is built for you. You'll get automatic Platinum Elite status, 15 Elite Night Credits every year, and an Anniversary Free Night. Add in up to $100 in Food & Beverage Rewards at IHG Hotels & Resorts and you'll feel the value every time you check in.
The Frequent Business Traveler
If you're booking flights and rental cars for work, this card rewards you well beyond hotel stays. You'll earn 5X points on flights booked directly, car rental agencies, gas stations, and restaurants, plus 5X on select advertising for your business. The $100 Airline Statement Credit each year helps offset the annual fee, and up to 26X total points on IHG stays means your points stack up fast.
โ
Here's a good rule of thumb: You probably shouldn't own a credit card if you: (1) have a bad credit score, (2) are a non-U.S. resident (for this particular card), and (3) cannot control your spending. Because this is a business card, you'll also need a business to apply. If your credit score is low, you'll need to improve it before applying for travel credit cards. Be honest with yourself: if a new credit card will tempt you to overspend, it's best to avoid it. Credit cards are crucial for earning miles and points, but they require responsible use.
And if you only stay with IHG occasionally, the $200 annual fee may be hard to justify. The no-annual-fee New IHG One Rewards Credit Card could be a better fit.
โ
A good to excellent credit score is recommended for The New IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card. But if you're in a solid place with your credit and feel ready for a new card, don't let the fear of being rejected keep you from applying. The worst they can say is "no."
